Savive is an independent Australian-based provider of consulting services and training courses to clients who procure, analyse, develop and/or operate systems which may be safety-critical or safety-related, or have other requirements to be of high integrity. Clients of Savive work in domains including aviation, rail, defence, traffic control, education, telecommunications, ordnance, and power generation and distribution, often involving highly integrated or complex systems or systems of systems. Savive focusses on functional safety, system safety and product safety, their overlap with other disciplines such as occupational health and safety, human factors, reliability, availability and maintainability, and their efficient integration with high integrity systems engineering and software engineering. Clients are supported through Savive performing, facilitating or providing education on: planning of a system safety program, hazard identification, analysis and assessment of risk (including aspects such as probability, frequency and/or likelihood, severity and software control category), identification of possible or legacy safety features, mitigations, controls and layers of protection and their capture as (quantitative or qualitative) safety requirements, derivation of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), providing assurance through the production of hazard logs and safety cases, performing independent safety assessments, conducting incident investigations, and other safety engineering and safety management tasks. Either separately or in conjunction with the above, Savive also addresses process improvement, including performing and preparing clients for appraisals against +SAFE - A Safety Extension to CMMI, with or without the wider Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). |
Why? To meet a duty of care, to comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements, to avoid failures, mishaps and accidents, to prevent harm to people, property and the environment, and the moral obligation to produce an acceptably safe system.
